Life Of a Deen Student |
I have spent years, months ,days and endless nights living in darkness. Engulfed in sin. Alhamdulillah, Allah however, had better plans in store for me: He made me a student of Islam. He guided me through means of acquiring knowledge of our mesmerizing faith,Islam. I, have realized that there must be other people who are also thirsty for this thirst-quenching knowledge. Therefore, the aim of my blog is to share with my Muslim family the knowledge which I gain. I pray that Allah guides us to the straight path, grants us patience in doing good deed and grants us a clean repentance. Remember, Allah does not judge you on how bad you have been in the past, but instead on how good you intend to be now. Peace be Upon You (: and Jazakallah for reading this. |

Monday is one of my favourite days of the week, unlike most people ,I’m the happiest on a Monday morning. Mondays signal a new week, a new beginning and it gives us the hope to continue pursuing our goals. Well ,anyways the reason for this post is because I would love to share with all my followers this piece of advise which I read this morning. It is from the book “Don’t Be Sad” , which is written by Dr Aaidh ibn Abdullah al- Qarni. ( By the way, if you have not read this book yet- I advise you to get a copy of it as soon as possible and read it. It has endless advice and it contains so much wisdom within it. It is one of my favourite books.)
“TITLE: THE PAST IS GONE FOREVER:
By brooding over the past and its tragedies, one exhibits a form of insanity – a kind of sickness that destroys resolve to live for the present moment. Those who have a firm purpose have filed away and forgotten occurrences of the past, which will never again see light, since they occupy a dark place in the recesses of the mind. Episodes of the past are finished with; sadness cannot retrieve them, melancholy cannot make things right, and depression will never bring the past back to life . This is because the past is non-existent.
Reading too much in the past is a waste of the present. When Allah mentioned the affairs of the previous nations,He, the Exalted ,said:
[ That was a nation who passed away.] (Qur’an 2:134)
Former days are gone and done with, and you benefit nothing by carrying out an autopsy over them , by turning back the wheels of history.”
I hope this enlightens you too and helps you to divorce your past and live in the present. Islam is about moving-forward so go out there and do your best. May Allah make your week productive and I wish you everything of the best.
Salaam.
